Vijayawada: Activists of Centre of Indian Trade Unions (CITU) State committee staged a dharna in front of Labour Commissioner Office to
resolve the problems of the SA Rawther Company workers, here on Thursday. The CITU State secretary, MA Gafoor, alleged that SA
Rawther Company in Anantapur district had suspended 183 workers who have established trade union. The other workers of the company
also held hunger strike in front of Anantapur Collectorate in support of the suspended workers, he said.
The CITU had extended full support to SA Rawther workers, he announced. Gafoor said the workers were continuing their protest from 14
months. He regretted that the government did not respond to their agitation. CITU State leaders AV Nageswa Rao, M Balaji, Ravi Sankar
Reddy, City secretary Muzffar Ahmed, president Ajay Kumar, leaders Sudhakar and others participated in the dharna.
