Speaking on the occasion, Minister said State government would emerge as knowledge hub and all Central government institutions will be established in the State in a phased manner as assured in the AP Reorganisation Act.

Government allocated Rs 384 crore for development of universities in the State and decided to recruit 1,104 assistant professor posts in the universities through APPSC, the Minister announced. We are inviting private universities in to the State to improve quality of education and to encourage healthy competition in the field of higher education and research, he explained.

At present, classes are being conducted for IIIT students of Srikakulam at Nujiveedu in Krishna district and permanent buildings would be available by next academic year, Ganta assured.

At Etcherla 340 acres of government land is available which is near to national highway (NH-16) and 25 km from Bhogapuram where international airport is proposed, said Minister for Labour, K Atchannaidu.

Government whip, Kuna Ravikumar, ZP chairperson, Chowdari Dhanalaxmi, MLC, K Prathibha Bharathi, MLAs, K Kala Venkata Rao, G Laxmidevi, B Ramana Murthy, K Venkata Ramana and other officials participated.
