Vizianagaram: Union Minister for Civil aviation P Ashok Gajapathi Raju said that women should be economically empowered and lead society on the path of progress. Participating in a programme at Denkada on Monday, the Minister distributed financial support worth Rs.14.8 crores to the DWCRA group. “Both the State and Union governments are working for the welfare of women and expanding banking services and promoting digitalisation to minimize corruption.
He said that beneficiaries were now getting their grants and subsidies credited directly into their accounts. Minister for Information and Public relations Palle Raghunatha Reddy said that the State government was implementing several welfare schemes despite facing a huge financial crunch. “We are encouraging the women to earn more to improve their quality of life,” he said.
