The results are likely to be announced by today afternoon while the graduates and teachers constituencies' results are to be declared by Monday night. Security has been tightened at the counting centres and the officials concerned have taken care of all the arrangements for counting of votes.

The latest reports suggest that TDP candidate Vakati Narayana Reddy has emerged victorious and bagged the Nellore MLC seat under local bodies quota with a narrow margin of 85 votes.

Defeating YSRCP candidate Anam Vijaya Kumar Reddy, the TDP candidate was declared victorious by the Returning Officer. Vakati Narayana Reddy earned immense support from more than 500 ZPTCs, MPTCs, councillors and corporators.
