Eluru: Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu alleged that some forces are trying to obstruct the development in West Godavari district in the name of pollution. He was addressing a public meeting held in Nallajerla village of West Godavari district on Saturday.
Speaking on the occasion, the Chief Minister said “I won’t allow any pollution. If necessary a common treatment plant will be set up to treat the effluents released from the industries in the district.” He also stated “Tanuku units and other industries have released the effluents causing pollution to water sources. The Government will take steps to control its pollution. The common treatment plant will treat the effluents and release it into the sea.”
“Some people do not want industrial development… they don't even want the increase of income of the people, following this they are agitating and provoking the people. I love West Godavari district which gave me all the seats in the Assembly, MP seats and all ZP, Municipal, Panchayats in the district. I won’t allow any pollution to this district. We will make this district as pollution free district” he said.

In summer the people may use up to 8 meters and during a rainy season, they are not allowed to lift that level. “It is a Bhageeratha Yatnam” to raise the ground water levels. Under Neeru- Chettu scheme the water conservation methods have to be implemented.
It is necessary to develop the chain-link irrigation tanks in the villages. The Neeru Chettu programme will benefit for this. Under this scheme, the percolation tanks, farm ditches have to be constructed in the big way to raise the ground water levels, he added.
