The Hospital organised an awareness programme at the hospital premises to mark the World Asthma Day on Monday. Speaking on the occasion Dr Prasad said that World Asthma Day was observed on May 2 every year.

Speaking on the occasion Dr Prasad said that World Asthma Day was observed on May 2 every year.

He said that most of the patients who are suffering from long term Asthma use inhalers and medicines and after getting some relief they stop, which is very dangerous, he has warned. The patients should always consult the doctor time and again and the patients have to use the medicines without fail, he suggested. To keep lungs healthy and fit one has to be very careful and do inhalation therapy he said.

He said that breathlessness, cough and stiff chest are the symptoms of Asthma. 'There is no cure for Asthma but with proper timely medication it can be brought under complete control' he said. He said that there are many therapies and treatments for Asthma but using inhaler is the best he added.
