Tirupati: Andhra Pradesh State Council of Higher Education (APSCHE) and the British Council have entered into Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) and initiated a collaborative programme for improving communicative skills among students of higher education. As a first step, they launched a training programme for master trainers at Sri Padmavathi Mahila Visvavidyalayam (SPMVV) here on Monday.

  • 126 master trainers selected from colleges and universities through written test and interview

The master trainers were selected to impart training to the trainers. About 126 master trainers, who are the faculty members of various universities, degree and post graduate colleges, were selected through the written test and interview held at three places in the state. They will be provided training on the objectives of the programme and the course details in two spells, said Dr Hari Padma Rani, the nodal officer and English Professor in SPMVV.

Speaking to The Hans India, she said that the master trainers will identify another 2,500 trainers in the state belonging to different professional colleges and they in turn train one lakh students. Addressing the master trainers in the inaugural function, the SPMVV V-C Prof V Durga Bhavani said that the main objective of the programme is to increase the employability skills and everyone will gain from this. APSCHE Secretary Prof S Varadarajan was also present.
