Srikakulam: District Collector K Dhanunjaya Reddy and Joint Collector K V N Chakradhara Babu launched a probe into anomalies in preparation of lists under rehabilitation and resettlement (R&R) package regarding Nuclear Power Plant (NPP) at Kovvada village in Ranastalam mandal.

Responding to news published in The Hans India on May 17 over wrong entries of lands in records at Maruvada village (87 acres) and Jeerukovvada (20 acres).District Collector, who convened a series of meetings with the officials concerned over preparation of lists, found anomalies in records and lists as well. Hence, the Collector reportedly warned revenue officials concerned in this regard as the Central and State governments are taking NPP as a prestigious project.

Joint Collector, Superintendent of Police J Brahma Reddy, special deputy collector for land acquisition J Seetharama Rao started recording of details of lands at all seven affected villages with the help of drone camera on Sunday. “We found some anomalies in preparation of R&R lists by making wrong entries in records for the government lands and directed to stop payments for government lands and started re-survey of lands and re-verification of records,” the Collector told The Hans India.
