The plantations at Jaggampeta, Gandepalli, Kirlampudi, Yaleswaram, Prathipadu and other mandals were destroyed due to gales.

Kakinada: Horticulture department recommend for payment of input subsidy to an extent of Rs 49.12 lakh to farmers, who lost banana, papaya, vegetables and mango crops due to summer gales on March 19, April 21, May 1 and May 14. The plantations at Jaggampeta, Gandepalli, Kirlampudi, Yaleswaram, Prathipadu and other mandals were destroyed due to gales.
According to statistics with horticulture department, the gales on March 19 damaged crop in 34.67 hectares and 185 farmers would get an input subsidy to the tune of Rs 8.55 lakh.

On April 21 in 58.23 hectares crop area was damaged and the estimated input subsidy to be doled out to 275 farmers was Rs 13.07 lakh. The gales on May 1 had affected 179 farmers and the losses in the survey were estimated to the extent of Rs 13.03 lakh in 52.11 hectares. Due to gales on May 14 the losses to the tune of Rs 14.33 lakh were recorded in 56.43 hectares.
