The issue of accordance of special status category to Andhra Pradesh refuses to die down.
Special Status Sadhana Samithi President Chalasani Srinivas, Communist Party of India (CPI) leader Ramakrishna along with several professors and students have taken up a hunger strike in Vijayawada on Tuesday.
The hunger strike will last for 96 hours with the prominent leaders from the state making it clear that they won't back down untill the AP State Reorganisation Act and the assurances made by the then Prime Minister Manmohan Singh to the Rajya Sabha are implemented.
