Rajamahendravaram: Mayor Pantam Rajani Sesha Sai has announced that the Municipal Corporation is going to open `Anna’ Canteens in the city through which meals will be sold at Rs 5 only.Addressing the fourth day of Nava Nirmana Deeksha (NND) programme in Anam Kala Kendram on Monday, she said that state government has envisaged these canteens to offer readymade food to the poor at lowest cost.

Discussing different welfare measures as part of NND, she said that the state government has decided to enhance the individual income by providing better employment or livelihood, driving everyone to use health and education schemes. She said that though the state is facing financial crisis, the able administration of Chief Minister is taking the state ahead in every sector.

She further added that the visionary Chief Minister was providing nine hours uninterrupted power supply to farmers and 24 hours for domestic consumers apart from solar power on subsidy. She further added that 20 liters of drinking water for Rs 2 is being supplied by installing RO plants in villages, is one of the best welfare schemes by the TDP government
.
The chief guest of the function and GUDA chairman Ganni Krishna said that Andhra Pradesh is a welfare state and the TDP government is going to keep all its election promises in next two years also. He said that the government is going to give stipend for unemployed youth shortly and called upon people to fight against the corruption and was asked to dial 1100 to give information on corruption.Municipal commissioner V Vijayaramaraju said that in last 17 days, 17.50 lakh gas connections were distributed in the district and assured to implement all the welfare schemes.
