Five arrested for betting; Rupees 40,300 cash seized
The III town police arrested five persons for organising illegal betting and seized an amount of Rs 40,300 from them. The five accused were presented before the media in the presence of DSP Kolli Srinivas in III town police station on Thursday.

Speaking to the media, the DSP said that the five accused, all are resident of Adoni, have formed a gang and indulging in gambling near Chanda Saheb Darga and Pinjari Street. On a tip off about Matka being organised, the police raided the place and arrested the five persons and seized cash besides five pens and Matka slips. The DSP further said that several cases were already registered against the accused.
He said that history sheet would be opened against them and their names would be forwarded to the District Collector seeking his permission to banish them from the district. III town Circle Inspector M Rama Naidu, SIs and other police personnel were present.
