Union Minister for Civil Aviation P Ashok Gajapathi Raju on Friday said that safety of nation was more important than the political leaders. He was reacting to the incident that occurred at the Vizag airport on Thursday when Anantapur MP JC Diwakar Reddy created a ruckus and damaged the electronic devices for denying him a boarding pass.
Vizianagaram: Union Minister for Civil Aviation P Ashok Gajapathi Raju on Friday said that safety of nation was more important than the political leaders. He was reacting to the incident that occurred at the Vizag airport on Thursday when Anantapur MP JC Diwakar Reddy created a ruckus and damaged the electronic devices for denying him a boarding pass.
Speaking to the media, Raju said though Diwakar Reddy may be an MP, but he would not be excused if he crosses the limits and norms. Nobody would be spared, however, high he or she may be, the Minister added.
Gajapathi Raju said that he never approached or demanded the staff to issue boarding pass against the prescribed norms or by violating rules. “I am here to develop the aviation sector in the country, but not to control the behaviuor of passengers every day”, he added. Debarring of an MP or any passenger from travelling through airlines was a decision taken by those organisations. The Civil Aviation Ministry is in no way concerned with their decision,” he added.
