Srikakulam: The Andhra Pradesh Commercial Tax Department Non-gazetted Officers (APCTNGOs) launched agitation by demanding that the government resolve their problems. The APCTNGOs Association members staged a lunch hour demonstration at Srikakulam circle office as part of their agitation.

Speaking on the occasion, APCTNGOs association state associate president EV Satyannarayana said in the wake of GST government need to re-designate junior and senior assistant cadres and should fix specific duties to each. Service rules need to be amended according to quota system regarding promotions of assistant commercial tax officers (ACTOs).

Exemption from implementation of rule 16 H for direct recruitment of ACTOs and this exemption should be applicable to all ACTOs who are being promoted. For transfers, performance indicators should be prepared basing on service rules.

As part of our agitation, they will stage dharnas in front of divisional offices on June 19, relay fasts in front of commissioner office in Vijayawada from June 21 to 23 and stage agitation at the same office on June 28, said APCTNGOs association division president Killana Phalguna Rao, Srikakulam city president R Venu Gopal.
