Union Minister of Power, New and Renewable Energy, Coal and Mines Piyush Goyal on Wednesday visited Rashtriya Ispat Nigam Limited-Visakhapatnam Steel Plant. On his maiden visit to RINL, the Union Minister planted saplings on the occasion at the dedication park.

Visakhapatnam: Union Minister of Power, New and Renewable Energy, Coal and Mines Piyush Goyal on Wednesday visited Rashtriya Ispat Nigam Limited-Visakhapatnam Steel Plant. On his maiden visit to RINL, the Union Minister planted saplings on the occasion at the dedication park.

The Minister was accorded a guard of honour on the occasion. Chairman-cum-Managing Director of RINL P Madhusudan welcomed the Minister and explained the activities of the plant and future plans. On the occasion, Piyush Goyal said that RINL has a very bright future and advised RINL to foray into solar and renewable energy to reduce the consumption of fossil fuels to generate thermal power.

The government would provide necessary support and incentives to the industries, who would come forward to set up solar power plants in the country, he added. He also assured full support to RINL in allocation of coal blocks. Later, Minister visited major production units like blast furnace-3, steel melt shop-2. Visakhapatnam and Anakapalli MPs K Haribabu, M Srinivasa Rao, Directors of RINL PC Mohapatra, P Rayuchaudhury, KC Das and senior officials were present.
