Stern action against land, sand mafia: SP PHD Ramakrishna
District Superintendent of Police (SP) PHD Ramakrishna warned that they would take stern action against the mafia, who involved in land grabbing in the district. He also said that they would take up soft policing aiming at dealing with issues in a friendly manner.

Interacting with The Hans India at his camp office here on Friday, the SP said that they would focus on traffic issues in the city and also on the vast national highway that spread along 170 km from Kavali to Tada.
He also said measures would be taken to reduce the rate of road accidents on the national highway keeping a vigil on the safety shortcomings.
He observed majority accidents on the NH-16 are due to stationary vehicles at many places on the highway leading to accidents from rear side and would take steps to clear them on a regular basis imposing restrictions on vehicle crew, who actually have to park them in the allocates slots.
The SP said he could curb illegal sand exploitation, belt shops and red sanders logs smuggling. He remembered that he had effectively curbed traffic woes in Kadapa town and also cracked whip against land mafia. Finally, Ramakrishna said he is trying to understand the situation in the district for necessary action plan.
