Srikakulam/ Visakhapatnam: Minister for Health, Dr Kamineni Srinivas will visit villages in Sitampeta agency on Tuesday where recently people were suffering from seasonal diseases. According to Integrated Tribal Development Authority (ITDA) project officer (PO), Lotheti Shivasankar, the minister will visit Kusimi, Naidumalli, Jakkaraguda, Pedarama, Kirapa, Manda, Devanapuram, Somagandi and Vempalaguda villages in agency area from morning till noon.

Seasonal fevers were recently spreading in these villages, hence to know the situation and ground level medical facilities minister will visit the villages. Later the minister will inspect facilities at Kotturu and Sitampeta community health centres (CHCs). In the evening minister will conduct a review meet over seasonal diseases and available medical facilities with medical and health and other concerned department officials.

Earlier, expressing concerns over worrying health conditions of tribals in the agency area, Kamineni said sensitisation campaigns on superstitions and maintaining hygiene conditions would be organised in the region.

He felicitated Lothugadda PHC doctor L Lakshmi Narayana for rendering 12 years service in the agency area. In his seven- day tour to agency areas, the health minister conducted a review meet on Monday with ITDA Project Director Ravi Patan Setti, MLA Kidari Sarvesvara Rao, AP Vaidya Vidan Parishad Commissioner P Durga Prasad, Additional Regional Medical Director G Savitri, DM&HO N Uma Sundari, Tahsildars of 11 mandals and other staff.
