The principal said that in most of the cases the problems of the women do not see light as they are more conservative, and don’t express their problems out.
She said to overcome such problems Mahila Mithra committee was organised and any problems can be discussed and sorted out, she said. A short film on anti-ragging was screened to make the students bold and told to dial to report a complaint.
The chief guest of the programme was Vijayawada city police Commissioner Gowtham Savang. Speaking on the occasion the commissioner had that all the students should have good discipline and kind towards their junior students and should be helpful to them.
He further said that students who misbehave with their junior students by ragging them, would face severe punishment as per the Andhra Pradesh prohibition of ragging act 1997.
He said that the punishment would be cancellation of admission, suspension from attending classes, withholding / withdrawing scholarships / fellowship and other benefits, suspension (expulsion from the hostel, expulsion from the institution. Cultural programmers were held, lecturers, students and staff were present.
