The Kapu leader along with other leaders was placed under house arrest on Wednesday at his residence in Kirlampudi, as he stepped out for his padayatra.

It is learnt that his house arrest will continue for one week up to August 2 under section 144, clause III.

AP Director General of Police N Sambasiva Rao spoke to The Hindu stating that the police bandobast will continue at the Kapu leader's residence and requested him to cooperate.

He told the newspaper that they are not willing to compromise on maintaining law and order which is the reason the police will be ready to arrest Mudragada if he violates the law.

According to the reports, around 1,190 people were taken into preventive custody across the state on Wednesday.
