Amaravati: The transfers’ process of government teachers has been delayed by 10 more days due to various reasons.
The counselling which was scheduled to be completed by July 31 has been extended till August 10 in Chittoor and Nellore districts as the rationalisation of schools is yet to be completed.

The transfers counselling for Secondary Grade Teachers (SGTs) which was to commence on July 27 has been delayed and started only on Saturday.

The counselling process for SGTs may continue till August 5 while earlier it was scheduled to be completed by July 31.
The teachers’ transfers schedule was earlier delayed due to the demands from teachers’ organisations which sought cancellation of web-counselling and scrapping of performance points.

The government succumbed to the demands from teachers’ unions, agreed to cancel web-counselling and gave its nod for manual counselling. Performance points have been reduced from 50 to 30.

The teachers’ transfers’ procedure commenced on July 21 in all the districts except in Chittoor and Nellore due to non-completion of rationalisation process.

According to Progressive Recognised Teachers Union (PRTUAP) General Secretary K Srinivasa Raju, the counselling in Chittoor and Nellore districts will commence on August 1 and will be completed by August 10.

The transfers’ counselling process for SGTs is likely to be completed by August 5 ''On Saturday, only 250 SGTs have completed the counselling instead of 800. About 4,000 SGTs are working in every district and it will take at least one more week for completing the counselling process,” he said.
