Cooperative Societies distribute Rupees 915 crore crop loans in Krishna dist
Krishna District Collector B Lakshmi Kantham on Sunday said that the Primary Agricultural Cooperative Societies (PACS) popularly known as Cooperative Banks have distributed Rs 915 crore crop loans so far to farmers in 2017 kharif season in the district.
Vijayawada: Krishna District Collector B Lakshmi Kantham on Sunday said that the Primary Agricultural Cooperative Societies (PACS) popularly known as Cooperative Banks have distributed Rs 915 crore crop loans so far to farmers in 2017 kharif season in the district.
Lakshmi Kantham said that cooperative societies are rendering assistance to the farming community for growing crops this season.
The Collector convened a review meeting with the officials at his camp office on Sunday and discussed welfare schemes being implemented by the cooperative department in the district.
He suggested that cooperative officers should give full support to farmers and tenant farmers and achieve the targets on sanctioning of loans.
He further said that the district annual credit target for commercial and cooperative banks is Rs 4, 500 crore, hence, all the bankers disbursed crop loans to the tune of Rs 2,500 crore to farmers so far. The state government is giving top priority to farmer’s welfare without any conditions, he said.
