Amma Arts and Cultural Academy had organised for scenes from mythological Telugu stage verse dramas from Sri Ramanjaneya Yuddham, Satya Harischandra and also the mono action of Duryodhana to be acted out on the occasion of their 11th anniversary at Sri Ghantasala Venkateswara Rao Government Music and Dance College.

These mythological verse plays are very popular in both the Telugu States.  Venkata Parvateesa Kavulu, Chilakamarthi, Balijepalli Lakshmikantam, Kallakuri Narayana Rao, Tanda Subrahmanyham penned these myth-dramas based on the Ramayana, Mahabharata, Bhagavata, Siva Puranam and other epics. Even though the duration of these dramas are more than three hours, the drama lovers never miss any aspect of the play and sit through it entirely.

In the present days, it has become easier to for the play writers to only portray some scenes from these kinds of plays instead of staging the whole play. This Kind of performances are never a satisfying watch for the connoisseurs.  The Amma Arts and Cultural Academy has given a Platform to showcase the Ramanjaneya Yuddham, Satya Harischandra and also the mono action of Duryodhana.

The mono action of Duryodhana (Mayasabha) was performed by Pragada Babu, the scene from Sri Ramanjaneya Yuddham was enacted by P Murali Krishna and K Govardhan and a scene from Satya Harischandra was performed by K Srinivasa Rao and K Kalyani. The programme was instrumentally supported by Pragada Nagendra on Harmonium and D Danaiah on Dolak. The rendering of the ‘Padyam’ (Poem) by artistes enthralled the audience.
