Kadapa: Government Whip and Rajampet MLA Meda Mallikarjuna Reddy said that the state government is committed to improve living standards of weavers.

He made an appeal to weavers to make use of welfare schemes meant for them. The Government Whip participated in an awareness camp conducted for weavers at Upparapalle village of Siddavatam mandal on Saturday.

Meda stated that the government had introduced various welfare schemes for weavers despite facing financial hurdles. He gave a call to weavers to make use of training provided by the Department of Handlooms and Textiles.

“The government is contemplating to allocate more funds to weavers in next budget,” he added. Joint Collector A Siva Reddy, NABARD Assistant General Manager A Srinivas, Sericulture Assistant Director Chandrasekhar Reddy and others were present.
