The no-confidence motion has been garnering support from the CPM, the AIADMK, the AIMIM, the AAP and the Congress party. The motion was moved by the YSRCP in the parliament demanding special status for Andhra Pradesh.

The Trinamool Congress and the Shiva Sena may also extend their support to the motion.

The development came hours after the TDP announced that it would quit the NDA government following the BJP's 'indifference' to the state of Andhra Pradesh.

TDP planned to move the no-confidence motion in the Lok Sabha on Friday, however, the Speaker adjourned the House till Monday dashing the TDP's hopes to score a brownie point ahead of the YSRCP.

The AIADMK has 37 MPs in the House, the Congress has 48, the TDP has 16, the YSRCP and the CPM have nine MPs and the MIM has one.

Speaking to media persons, Hyderabad MP and AIMIM chief Asaduddin Owaisi said that his party would support the no-confidence motion against the BJP government for several reasons. Besides not implementing State Reorganisation Act, the Centre has failed in keeping its promise to provide employment to Muslim minorities,he added.
