Two die as wall caves in
Two workers were killed when a wall caved in on them while digging foundation trenches to construct a house in the district on Wednesday.
Bobbili (Vizianagaram): Two workers were killed when a wall caved in on them while digging foundation trenches to construct a house in the district on Wednesday.
Inspector of Police D Mohan Rao disclosed that Ch Sivunnaidu of Karada village in Bobbili mandal engaged 12 workers of Muttayivalasa village for the construction of his home.
The workers started digging the foundation trenches since morning. But suddenly the wall besides the trenches collapsed and two workers buried under the debris and breathed their last.
The deceased were identified as S Jagannatham (45) and D Sriramuku (38). Three more workers were seriously injured. Tahasildar S Saikrishna and police rushed to the spot and sent the bodies for to post-mortem. The injured are sent to community health centre for treatment.
