The vital organs of city-based techie. who was declared brain-dead after a road accident, were donated to different hospitals by her parents on Thursday. Chinnabattula Maitri Tejaswani (26) of the city met with an accident on Tuesday night when the bike on which she was pillion riding on Eluru Road.

Chinnabattula Maitri Tejaswani (26) of the city met with an accident on Tuesday night when the bike on which she was pillion riding on Eluru Road.

A police constable, Katari Srinivasa Rao, who was reportedly driving in a drunken state, rammed into the bike on Tuesday night seriously injuring Tejaswani. Her brother was driving the vehicle when she suffered head injury in the collision. Blood reportedly clotted in the head which resulted in her brain-dead condition. She was working as software engineer in Chennai and visited her family on leave.

Tejaswani’s organs were sent to Global Hospital, Chennai (heart), Apollo Hospital, Visakhapatnam (liver), Vijaya Hospital, Vijayawada and Narayana Hospital, Nellore (kidneys), and LV Prasad Eye Hospital, Vijayawada (eyes). Earlier, a detailed counselling was conducted to the parents to donate the organs of the victim. They finally agreed to it.
