4 YSRCP corporators suspended
YSRCP corporators staged a protest outside the municipal council hall here on Wednesday following the suspension of four of their corporators when they demanded discussion in the council hall over the Special Category Status and resignation of all corporators as part of the fight for the Special Category Status.

Mayor Koneru Sridhar chaired the municipal corporation council meeting. As soon as the council meeting started, some YSRCP corporators said all parties in the state are fighting for the Special Category Status and the struggle should continue till the state gets the Special Category Status. YSRCP 36th division corporator Shaik Bibi Jaan suggested that all corporators belonging to the TDP and the YSRCP should resign as part of the struggle for the Special Category Status, but the TDP opposed it.
Deputy Mayor Gogula Ramana and TDP floor leader Gundarapu Haribabu and others have made it clear they would not resign and there was no need to do so.On the other hand, some YSRCP corporators supported Bibi Jaan. The two sides engaged in a heated argument.
Later, Mayor Koneru Sridhar suspended four corporators Shaik Asif, Chandana Suresh, P Jhansi and M Sivasankar. Marshalls forcibly sent out the four corporators from the council hall. Jhansi fainted outside the council hall. Consequently, YSRCP floor leader B Punyaseela, B Vijay Kumar and the three suspended corporators staged a protest for more than 30 minutes outside the council hall.
In the meantime, the council meeting continued as usual.The YSRCP corporators alleged that the Mayor behaved in an undemocratic manner. Punyaseela questioned the decision of the Mayor to suspend the four corporators. She alleged that Mayor was insulting the YSRCP corporators in council meetings.After Question Hour, Punyaseela, B Vijay Kumar, Kareemunnisa and other corporators attended the council meeting.
