Vigilance and enforcement officials raided on a rice mill in Jangareddigudem town on Friday afternoon and found irregularities and Public distribution System (PDS) rice in the mill.

Eluru: Vigilance and enforcement officials raided on a rice mill in Jangareddigudem town on Friday afternoon and found irregularities and Public distribution System (PDS) rice in the mill.

The officials led by Vigilance DSP M Rajani reached Jangareddigudem and went to Sri Vishnupriya Rice mill. They searched the rice in the mill. The officials seized six quintals of rice that packed in bags from an Auto in the mill. During their checks, they found deficit of 3,800 quintals of CMR rice in the m ill. It was also found that the Miller recycling the PDS rice in the mill. mThe custom milled rice (CMR) was not upto the Government estimates, the officials said.

The officials said that the Government has fixed Rs.1,200 per quintal for the CMR rice and the deficit CMR rice value is Rs.45.60 lakhs. The miller Talladi Sattipandu has nixed the PDS rice in the CMR rice deficit. The DSP said that an auto was seized and a case has been registered against the Miller. Vigilance CI GVV Nageswara Rao, AO Srinivasa Kumar and other officials participated in the raids.
