Amaravati: Observing that this is a very crucial time for Amaravati, Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu directed the officials to complete all the projects within the stipulated time frame.

Reiterating that he wanted visible results in Amaravati capital city, he told the CRDA (Capital Region Development Authority) officials that the government will provide every possible support.

He participated in a review meeting on CRDA on Thursday at the Secretariat. Naidu met the officials from various educational institutions, construction firms and other officials in the CRDA review meeting.

Briefing the Chief Minister about the road construction around the capital region, Amaravati Development Corporation (ADC) chairman and managing Lakshmi Parthasarathy said that the basic infrastructure and roads were coming up as per schedule and regular inspection was also being carried out. “The roads will be ready to use by monsoon. We have also come up with designs for two more parks and other recreational areas for public use,” she added.

The CRDA officials informed Naidu that funds for next phase of works will be raised by the end of the month and that they had already engaged with Andhra Bank, Indian Bank and Vijaya Bank for further action. They also told him that they had met Hudco and National Housing Bank representatives and that the disbursals would start very soon.

Happy Cities Summit The officials from Dalberg, an advisory firm, briefed the Chief Minister on the recently-concluded Happy Cities Summit and told him that the speakers and delegates who attended the summit were extremely satisfied and expressed interest in participating in the prosperity of Amaravati in the future.

They informed that 93 per cent of attendees were extremely satisfied with the summit and promised to return next year. Speaking on the opportunities and lessons to learn from the summit, the Chief Minister said similar to Amaravati, we need to support other cities in AP to work on the concept of citizen happiness and satisfaction levels.

The concept of happiness is universal and we can take it to other states too. Knowledge economy and innovation-based economy is the need of the hour along with a rising happiness index, he added.

Anna Canteen
Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu also reviewed the progress of Anna Canteens coming up across the state. K Kanna Babu, director, municipal administration, informed the Chief Minister that currently 148 sites for Anna Canteens have been identified and sanctioned. Of them, 100 have already been handed over to the agencies.

Naidu spoke to the officials from construction agencies and was briefed on the status of their work in the state. He asked the officials to identify sites which have enough space for people inside as well as have parking facilities outside with greenery.

IT Park–Amaravati
Shapoorji Group presented designs of IT Park and Tower area to the Chief Minister and informed him that the designs have been conceptualised with the intent of providing beauty and functionality and also with an aim of being in sync with the designs of the city.

Representatives from various universities such as SRM University, VIT University, Amrita University, Indo-UK Institute of Health and Bramhakumari University briefed Chandrababu Naidu on their progress and future plans.

The government will provide everyone all possible assistance and each one of you have an important role to play towards development of Amaravati, Naidu opined. The government is creating a world class city and your quick and efficient work is the very much required, Naidu said.
