Land allotted to spiritual bodies in Amaravati

Amaravati: The state government has decided to allot land to some spiritual organisations such as Isha Foundation, Art of Living Foundation and Ramakrishna Mission. Municipal administration minister P Narayana said the Group of Ministers (GoM) has decided to allot land to 13 government and private institutions in Amaravati.

Speaking to reporters at the Secretariat on Thursday, the minister said the meeting of GoM gave green signal to allot 56 acres to 13 government and private institutions. The meeting decided to allot 10 acres to Art of Living Foundation, 10 acres to Isha Foundation, 5 acres to Ramakrishna Mission, 2.3 acres to Amaravati Venture Habitation Ltd, 1.5 acres to Confederation of Indian Industry, 3 acres to Chandra Rajeswara Rao foundation, 10 acres to Babu Jagjeevanram Memorial, 1 acre to HUDCO, 60 cents to Railway Telecorporation of India Ltd, 70 cents of Mana TV, 5.43 acres to NRS Government Ayurvedic college, 4 acres to Indian Army and 80 cents to National Centre for Decease Control. The minister also said the government allotted 1,1312 acres to 65 institutes in the past but only 7 institutes started construction works.

He said the government issued notices to those organisations for not starting operations so far. Narayana said the GoM has decided to increase the amount from Rs 25,000 to Rs 50,000 for each house for creating infrastructure for multi-storied buildings under the government schemes in villages. He said a decision has also been taken to sanction Rs 10,000 for repair of houses in urban areas.
