Agency bandh receives good response

Visakhapatnam: The Agency bandh called up by the Maoists demanding Special Category Status (SCS) for the state received good response here on Monday. According to sources, all the business and commercial establishments remained closed and private vehicle owners halted their services voluntarily. The tourists, who were returning from the Agency, had faced tough time due to lack of transport system in Paderu and Chintapalle.

The Maoists had burnt a lorry laden with Beedi leaves on the Jagadalpur-Chattisgarh border NH 63. No causalities reported in the incident. AOB Special Zonal Committee representative Jagabandhu had released a letter to media stating that TDP and BJP were playing election gimmicks in the state on the SCS issue.
