Cop’s wife dies in Hospital

Vijayawada: K Lakshmi Prasanna, 26, wife of a constable Murali Krishna, Ajit Singh Nagar police station, who attempted to end life by setting herself ablaze on June 30, succumbed to injuries while undergoing treatment at the government general hospital here on Saturday.
This issue came to light on July 4. Lakshmiprasanna with more than 90 per cent of burn injuries battled for one-week and died on Saturday. She had a love marriage with constable Muralikrishna five years ago and the couple was blessed with a baby.
The horrible images of injured victim went viral in social media. Later, the police registered a case and arrested him on July 6. Parents of Lakshmiprasanna alleged Murali Krishna was responsible for the death of Lakshmiprasanna.
They alleged she did not attempt suicide, but their son-in-law murdered her and demanded stringent punishment against their son-in-law for killing his wife.
Ajit Singh Nagar police are investigating the case. Murali Krishna was produced in the court on Friday.
