Anti-Trafficking Bill demanded
Various NGOs and social activists from two Telugu states decided to meet the MPs in Delhi on July 18 to request the law makers to pass the long pending Antitrafficking Prevention, protection and rehabilitation Bill 2018 which has been expected by the victims of trafficking to be passed in Parliament this year The Union Cabinet had given the nod for it but Parliament is yet to pass it
Vijayawada: Various NGOs and social activists from two Telugu states decided to meet the MPs in Delhi on July 18 to request the law makers to pass the long pending Anti–trafficking (Prevention, protection and rehabilitation) Bill 2018 which has been expected by the victims of trafficking to be passed in Parliament this year. The Union Cabinet had given the nod for it but Parliament is yet to pass it.
Anti-trafficking (Prevention, protection and rehabilitation) Bill- 2018 is useful to check trafficking of women and children as well as to protect the rights of the women and children, said NVS Rammohan, social activist and secretary of the HELP organisation and the state convener of the NATSAP (Network Against Trafficking and Sexual exploitation in Andhra Pradesh) and P Vijaya Nirmala, the state convener of VIMUKTI (victims collective) Forum.
Rammohan in a statement here on Tuesday said NGOs and social activists particularly fighting against the crime against the women from 18 states will meet MPs in Delhi on July 18. They seek the cooperation of the MPs in passing the bill this monsoon session of Parliament.
