Ongole: The Vidyardhi Yuvajana JAC, youth and student organisations and Jana Sena organised protests, rallies and human chains in various places of Prakasam district as part of ‘Big Fight- Formation of Human Chain with One Crore people’, demanding that the Central government accord Special Category Status to the state along with the demand to implement all promises made to the state in the reorganisation act.

The students and youth members from organisations like SFI, AISF, PDSU, AIYF and Janasena joined the protests in the district.

In Ongole, they organised a rally though the streets of the town and organised a human chain at the Church center, blocking the traffic for nearly one hour.

Similarly, in Darsi, the SFI, DIYF, Janasena, CPI and CPM joined the rally and organized a human chain in the town. In Chirala, the AISF, AIYF, DIYF and Janasena organised a rally from the Gautami College to Clock Tower center and formed a human chain.

Painam Nagaraju, Vidyardhi Yuvajana JAC state general secretary, Madda Ravikumar, district president of the JAC, Ravuri Bujji, convener of the Janasena, Mallikharjuna, Sudhakar, Kumari Nanda leaders of PDSU, SFI, AIYF and other organisations said that the union government is taking the future of the state for granted and is not implementing the reorganisation act in true spirit.

They demanded the central government to announce special category status to the state immediately and announce steel factory at Kadapa, railway zone at Visakhapatnam and construct the port promised in the act at Ramayapatnam.

They warned the BJP lead union government to keep its promises to the state or be ready to face the wrath of students and youth so that the BJP candidates will not get a deposit in next elections here.
