Woman dies in road mishap

Vijayawada: Metla Ramadevi (56) died on the spot and another woman sustained grievous injuries when a speeding vehicle hit the auto-rickshaw in which they were travelling on Saturday.
The woman was shifted to Vijayawada hospital for better treatment.
The incident took place near Pamarru flyover on Saturday when a Scorpio hit an auto-rickshaw.
Apart from the deceased, auto driver T Ranga and seven others, who were travelling in the auto, sustained injuries and undergoing treatment at the government hospital in Machilipatnam.
The injured were from Idugullapalli village in Gudur, and were going to Mudunuru temple when the accident took place.
Police registered a case and started investigation.
