Mayor Sunkara Pavani pays tributes to Mahatma

Kakinada: Mayor Sunkara Pavani paid floral tributes to ‘Father of Nation’ Mahatma Gandhi on the 72nd Independence Day here on Wednesday.
At the programme organised at Municipal Corporation premises, the mayor garlanded the statue of Mahatma Gandhi.

Speaking on the occasion, Pavani said that independence had been archived because of the great sacrifices made by our freedom-fighters.
She said that youth should emulate the ideals of Gandhiji.

Later, the mayor unfurled the National Flag at the same premises. Municipal Commissioner Siva Parvati, corporation staff and schoolchildren participated.
