Vijayawada: The ashes of former Prime Minister late Atal Bihari Vajpayee reached the city on Wednesday at 6 pm. BJP State president Kanna Lakshminarayana, MLC Somu Veerraju, former MP U Krishnamraju along with his wife and party activists paid tributes to the departed leader. On this occasion, they garlanded the portrait of Vajpayee.
The BJP leaders said that the people could visit and pay tributes to ashes of Vajpayee from 8 am to 2 pm at the party office here. Later, the ashes would be immersed at Punnami Ghat in River Krishna after taking out a rally from the party office. A condolence meeting also would be held at Punnami Ghat, said party leaders.
