SI Kota Vamsidhar washed away in canal
In a tragic incident, a subinspector working at Ramachandrapuram in East Godavari district was washed away in KEB main branch canal at Avanigadda in Krishna district on Saturday
Vijayawada: In a tragic incident, a sub-inspector working at Ramachandrapuram in East Godavari district was washed away in KEB main branch canal at Avanigadda in Krishna district on Saturday.
The police with the help of expert swimmers began search to trace the missing SI.
According to Avanigadda police, Kota Vamsidhar,30, along with his mother, was travelling in a car (PY 04 8920) from Ramachandrapuram towards his native place Ismail Beg Pet of Koduru Mandal in Krishna district.
When the vehicle reached Papavinasanam area, the car lost control and plunged into the canal. Sub-inspector Vamsidhar and his mother came out of car successfully.
Unfortunately, he ventured into canal to get back some of his belongings, which were in the car. He drowned and washed away in the gushing waters of the canal.
Due to recent rains, there was full flow of water in the canal. Rescue teams were searching for the missing Vamsikrishna. Avanigadda police are investigating the case.
