Kurnool: Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), National President, Amit Shah described the Raghavendra Swamy mutt at Mantralayam as a sacred shrine. Devotees in unaccountable numbers across the country visit the shrine to seek blessings of Raghavendra Swamy, he pointed out. Amit Shah who is on a three-day tour to Mantralayam, visited the famous shrine on Saturday to seek the blessings of Sri Raghavendra Swamy. He was given a warm welcome by the temple authorities.

First, the BJP chief visited the Village Goddess at Manchalamma Katta and offered prayers. He later visited Raghavendra Swamy Brundavanam. Peethadhipathi Subhudhendra Tirtha Swami presented Amit Shah with memento, shawl and Prasadam. Amit Shah also inaugurated a new modern hospital constructed at a cost of Rs 65 lakh by the temple authorities. Both allopathic and ayurvedic treatment would be provided to patients at the hospital.

Later speaking to the mediapersons, Amit Shah said that the Raghavendra Swamy temple attracts large number of devotees from across the country. The devotees come here to get their wishes fulfilled by offering prayers to Raghavendra Swamy. The BJP chief appealed to the residents of Mantralayam and the villagers adjacent to Mantralayam to utilise the services of the hospital. Later, he left for party cadre meeting.
