Kurnool: Joining the armed forces and serving the nation is a great honour, said District Collector S Satyanarayana while flagging off a running contest being conducted by the Army Recruitment Office, Guntur, at APSP 2nd Battalion Grounds here on Friday.
Addressing the job aspirants, Satyanarayana stated it is a golden opportunity for job aspirants to serve the nation by joining the armed forces. Those who have selected should take their careers in armed forces as a challenge and should excel in it, he stated.
The Collector said several job openings are available in the Border Security Force (BSF), Railway Protection Force (RPF), Navy, Air Force, Central Industrial Security Force (CISF) and other services.
The applicants belonging to Kadapa and Anantapur will be taking part in soldier category while Prakasam, Anantapur, Chittoor, Kurnool, Guntur, Kadapa and Nellore district applicants would attend for soldier (clerk), store keeper, soldier (nursing assistant) categories, said JS Bindra, Subedar Major and recruitment officer.
Earlier, the Collector accompanied by Superintendent of Police (SP) Gopinath Jetty has flagged off a running contest conducted for job seekers. Assistant Recruitment Officer Aravind Singh, RDO BK Venkatesh, ASP Ravi Chandra, Kurnool Corporation Municipal Commissioner Dr CB Harinath Reddy and other officials were present.
