Ongole: K Saritha, a II year IT student of PACE Institute of Technology and Sciences, has been selected for the JNTU-K women’s kabaddi team, after 60 from engineering, pharmacy and MBA colleges participated in the selection competitions.

The team will take part in the South Zone Inter-University Kabaddi Championship, institute secretary and correspondent Maddisetty Sridhar said here on Tuesday.

He observed that success achieved by women in sports along with men would be a source of inspiration while addressing a function to felicitate Saritha.

Principal Dr M Srinivas underlined the importance of sports along with education, while urging her to take advantage of the opportunity to achieve success.

Among those who complimented Saritha were planning and development director Dr Sukumar Puhan, IT department head Seshagiri Rao, physical director I Madusudhana Rao, S Giri.
