Kanigiri: Andhra Pradesh Congress Committee president N Raghuveera Reddy demanded that the Union government reinstate Alok Verma as the CBI director and let him probe the alleged scam in Rafale fighter aircrafts deal.

The PCC chief is in the Prakasam district to participate in the Intinta Congress programme in Kanigiri Assembly constituency on Thursday. Expressing satisfaction over the participation of their leaders in the programme all over the district, Raghuveera Reddy said that they are distributing a document of promises to every home.

He said they are explaining the public about the demerits of the NDA government in the last four years and the merits of the UPA government for the 10 years term and how the Gandhi family made sacrifices for the country.

He said that return of Congress into power in state and at Centre was a historical need and their leaders were seeking support of every family and collecting Rs 1 as a contribution from them for the winning of Rahul Gandhi to become next prime minister.

Raghuveera Reddy alleged that the bigwigs in the NDA government were involved in Rs 41,000 crore scam of Rafale aircrafts and the CBI director Alok Verma got a clue about this. He said Prime Minister Narendra Modi, who is the main culprit in the scam, was trying to shield those involved in the scam along with him.

He said that the government has not sought the decision of the selection committee in ousting the director and warned him to reinstate Verma in his position immediately. He also demanded the Union government to appoint joint parliament committee as suggested by the Rahul Gandhi to get the truth behind the scam.
