Visakhapatnam: The government is very keen on developing the State as a ‘Tourism hub’, said HRD Minister Ganta Srinivasa Rao. The Minister released the tourism special calendar with many events here in the city on Sunday.
As part of the special tourism calendar, ‘Visakha Utsav’, will be celebrated tentatively on December 28, 29 and 30 in the district followed by Balloon Festival at Araku on January 18, 19 and 20.
And in March, the Yachting festival would be conducted to attract tourists. Speaking to media, he said to encourage water sports as part of tourism promotion, the state had sanctioned Rs 20 lakh for scuba diving.
