Vijayawada: The trust board of Shirdi Sai Baba temple here on Monday announced that the trust had paid tenth class exam fee of Rs 1.36 lakh for 1093 students studying in four government high schools.
The honorary president of the temple trust, P Gautam Reddy and municipal corporation deputy educational officer P Trimurthy Raju handed over the cheques for the same amount to the headmasters of all the 14 government high schools at a function here on Monday.
Gautam Reddy addressing the meeting said that he was happy that the students were achieving hundred per cent results for the last several years.
The temple trust, apart from spiritual programmes, has also undertaken social welfare programmes, he added. He recalled recently the trust introduced “Maha Prasthanam’ vehicle services for the people of Vijayawada.
Trust president P Lakshmana Rao, general secretary P Mallaiah, treasurer M Satya Srihari, and other committee members also were present.
