Vijayawada: CPM State secretary P Madhu sent a letter to Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu requesting the latter to release a revised DSC notification to fill more teacher posts as the present notification was released to recruit only 7902 teachers.
Madhu pointed out that the State government declared very less posts lying vacant compared to the statements issued by the government that 23,000 teachers’ need to be filled.
In a press release here on Monday, Madhu said the government has included the posts of teachers in Model Schools, Ashram Schools and Residential Schools in the present DSC notification. He said that these posts were supposed to be filled separately as per the norms.
The CPM leader said the notification has been issued for the first time since 2014 and added that about 45,000 teachers could have retired in three years. He appealed to the Chief Minister to release fresh notification to recruit more teachers and to strengthen the education in the State.
He said aspirants were disappointed with the notification released by the Government recently as very less posts are to be filled. He wondered why the State government is not filling the 1,056 PET posts lying vacant in the schools.
