Visakhapatnam: It was a fortunate day for intermediate second year student Pravin, who had managed to escape from acid attack allegedly done by two unidentified miscreants on Friday evening at Dibbapalem area near Srinagara under Gajuwaka police limits. The issue came to light after Pravin lodged a complaint with police here on Saturday.

According to Gajuwaka Inspector K Rama Rao, K Pravin, a second-year intermediate student of a Chaitanya junior college, was returning home after the college hours on Friday evening, two unidentified men on a bike followed him from Gajuwaka signal point and after reaching to Dibbapalem area near Srinagar, they threw acid on him and fled from the spot.

Pravin was not severely injured in the attack as the culprits threw low concentration acid which is used for toilet cleaning, he said. Police had observed CCTV footage from the nearby apartment, but the miscreants were remained untraced.
