Man begins fast over village problems
Kolla Venkat of Mentepudi village in Veeravasaram mandal began relay fast in front of MRO and MDO offices here on Monday, demanding that the authorities address main problems of the village
Bhimavaram: Kolla Venkat of Mentepudi village in Veeravasaram mandal began relay fast in front of MRO and MDO offices here on Monday, demanding that the authorities address main problems of the village.
The officials met him and sought to know reasons for the fast. Venkat reminded them that he had submitted a memorandum to the officials at Meekosam programme and observed one day fast on November 26 seeking solution to problems people have been facing in Indiramma colony of his village.
He had asked for removal of silt from drinking water tank, supply of protected water, provision of drainage facility among other issues.
Venkat complained that the officials had promised to solve the problems at that time but failed to keep up their promise.
He vowed to continue the fasting until they fulfil the promises and resolve the problems in the village.
