One such upcoming singer who aims to become a playback singer is Rakesh Nagavarapu who is an Andhra Idol winner recently.
Speaking to the Hans India, Rakesh, an engineering graduate, who wish to have a career as playback singer, said that singing and music has been his passion since his childhood.
Performing on many a stage in the presence of eminent people like music maestros Koti, Sunitha, Mano, Taman, Raghu Kunche and lyricist Chandrabose he has proved himself as an upcoming talented artist who has done dubbing for the movie Balala Sai Baba for the main lead.
Rakesh said he has bagged many prizes in various competitions. His journey towards music started during the second year of B Tech when he participated in fetes of almost all colleges, and won prizes and recognition.
After completing B Tech, he joined MBA and took up part time job in Airtel and later worked at the Secretariat for a year. However he left that job to fulfill his ambition to become a playback singer.
Earlier, he was runner-up in Gemini TV show Bol Baby Bol season-10 and was also the winner of Padutha Hayiga-2 and received a cash prize of Rs 1 lakh.
He had sung about five songs on Balala Sai Baba movie besides many songs in short films.
Rakesh recalled the encouragement given by Krishna District Collector Lakshmikantham which he cannot forget besides the support from Vijayawada additional SP G Murali Krishna, AP JAC Chairman Bopparaju Venkateswarlu, SRR and CVR college principal Dr Velaga Joshi, former Indian Cricketer N Madhukar, Member in Woman and Welfare department Kallepalli Vijayalakshmi.
He said that his favorite singer was Karthik. "I am inspired by his songs every time I listen them. Apart from singing, I like long drives and love non-veg food."
