Visakhapatnam: Visakha Port Trust Chairman MT Krishna Babu inaugurated the 32nd All India Postal Kabaddi tournament here on Tuesday at Swarna Bharathi indoor stadium. Players from 11 states will participate in the four-day Kabaddi tournament which has commenced in the city.
Speaking on this occasion MT Krishna Babu said that Visakhapatnam has become the major sport city for conducting national and international level sports meet.
The postal department is conducting national level sports event among their postal employees which is a good sign. The sports persons who were representing their respective states in the present tournament should represent our country at national and international sport events. He also applauded the postal department support for encouraging sports among their employees.
The Kabaddi players among the postal department which were formed as Eleven teams from Andhra Pradesh, Telangana, Himachal Pradesh, Karnataka, Gujarat, Maharastra, Uttar Pradesh, Kerala, West Bengal, Delhi and Tamil Nadu were participating in the four day Kabaddi tournament. During the 31st All India Postal Kabaddi tournament , Andhra Pradesh has stood at third place and won bronze medal at Vaddodara .
This time the AP team was trained under the guidance of National and International level Kabaddi coaches so they expect better performance from them during the ongoing tourney said Visakha Post Master General Elisha.
