The Supreme court rejects the petition filed by the Andhra Pradesh High Court Advocates Association APHCAA on shifting the AP high court at Amaravati from 1st January 2019

New Delhi: The Supreme court rejects the petition filed by the Andhra Pradesh High Court Advocates Association (APHCAA) on shifting the AP high court at Amaravati from 1st January 2019.

The Association moved to the apex court, that AP government failed to fulfill its promise of keeping the high court building ready from 1st January 2019.

APHCAA want the SC to temporary hold the bifurcation of the joint high court of AP and Telangana in Hyderabad until the AP government completes the construction work of the court building, roads, accommodation, and infrastructure development around the proposed high court building at Nelapadu at Amaravati.

As AP high court has started its operations in Amaravati, the supreme court bench of Justice AK Sikri, Justice Abdul Nazeer rejected the petition saying they cannot intervene in this issue.

Justice Chagari Praveen Kumar sworn in as the Acting Chief Justice of AP High Court on 1st January at the Indra Gandhi Municipal Stadium in Vijayawada.
